Yea they are legal.

Here's one from Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/532nm-Astronomy-Powerful-Green-Pointer/dp/B0019D12WW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1310785657&sr=8-2

They sell laser pointers in all sorts of colors.  Green, red, blue, purple.  I've seen them mostly online, but I'm sure there are electronics retailers that sell them.

of course they are legal.  You can probably get a common red pointer at places like Target and Radio Shack and Best Buy.  Greens, blues, (good) reds and others are by far cheapest on line, at Amazon and many other places.  I use at least 2 colors at work for a variety of reasons.

They are legal as long as you don't shine them at moving vehicles or planes.  I just got back to our room from shopping.  Checked several of the 'wings',   'eagles', and others, but I can't find them either.  Bought a regular red pointer for $3 from one of those stores here in Myrtle Beach.@

it is the power level you have to be carefull of

a 4 watt night light is dim

lasers are not toys

4 watt laser, not milliwatts, would blind anyone

the colors vary . your home remote probably has invisible infra red.

red is less energy than green or blue.

NEVER NEVER SHINE one at anyones eyes. you CAN damage sight. a 5 -10 milliwatt green could disorient a pilot at night and cause a crash.

1. Laser Pointer <5mW  is legal to use in USA.
2. There are many online laser stores and you can get one.   http://www.laserto.com is a good laser website which sells cheap laser pointers, and they are giving coupons right now. You can have a try. Good luck!

Would a gazillion watt green laser pointer blow out paranoia light about 5 miles away? Man, I should have driven into that place and shot out that light while no one was living there!
And I notice I got a NEW one shinning now!
At a place on a ridge line only a couple miles away as the crow flies. Never were any lights there before.
I know that place has been on the market, I wonder if some new people bought it and had to get a light put in so it's more like the city they probably came from.
It's getting daylight now, I can see that light with binoculars, and it’s on that big mansion that's built over there.
I suppose that's going to be another permanent irritant!

I am looking to get a green laser pointer to mess around with but I don't really know anything about them. I want one where I can see the beam good but I don't want to spend too much money. What type of voltage should i be looking for and what is a good price for these specifications? Thanks in advance.
