chest pain while swallowing?

ok for about 2 days now ive had this weird sensation in my upper chest lower throat when i swallow i feel a mild and dull pain, particularly with liquids, its kinda like what you feel if you gulf down alot of water at once, i also have a mild feeling of something stuck in my throat although the food goes down easy as does the liquid but its discomforting.
also i dont know if it matters but it happened a day after i got really drunk (16 beers) and chainsmoked a pack of menthol cigarettes, which was also a few days after i smoked about 4 peach cigars so im thinking that it might have something to do with it.
Also i regularly smoke about a pack and a half of non menthol light cigarettes a day and ive been a beer alcoholic for about 2 years, so maybe ive irritated my esophagus idk. i also eat alot of spicy sometimes greasy foods and put alot of lemon in my soups (3 lemons in a big bowl), ive also recently started getting drunk off beer before ive had my breakfast. and lastly i eat quite fast, and i am a few pounds overweight.
so what could it be and what should i do?
PS- im asking a question about the chest pain so please just answer my question instead of telling me i need to quit drinking and smoking i know its bad

I have had that problem too. I take tums to try and calm it down but it only helps slightly. Time is what seems to be the only solution. That and water to regulate the PH balance in your body.

You have a variant of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with the effect predominantly in the laryngeal and pharyngeal areas. This is known to cause heart burn. Confirmation requires endoscopy.Treatment is antacids and acid suppressants like omperazole and ranitidine. You need to see your doctor for a prescription.

Your age influences the possible causes. GERD, mentioned by another poster is one cause, but not the only cause. The pain is usually due to esophagitis, an inflammation in the lower part of the esophagus(even though it feels like it is up higher), or an esophageal stricture due to chronic inflammation or, in older folks(say, older than 40), tumor. The fact that it occurs with liquids suggest inflammation alone.
If you are young, simply following the advice of one poster, assuming it is GERD and buying medication OTC(omeprazole) might be reasonable. If you are over 40, it would be FAR safer to consult with a gastroenterologist and determine the cause before blindly taking medication.
Certainly, abusing alcohol and smoking don't help and may well be the cause, though assuming this without objective data entails some amount of risk.

If this pain in the chest starts after swallowing something then it is not a heart problem but it is possible your esophagus..Your food pipe goes into spasms and that causes the pain. Please note down how long the pain lasts. but it definitely is a problem either with your esophagus or you may have a sliding hernia and the valve above your stomach between the diaphragm (your breathing muscle) does not close and lets acid flow back in to your esophagus that would also be an explanation for the pains which only occur when you eat or drink. Therefore you should see your doctor and he can find out for certain by perhaps performing a gastro copy. When a tiny tube is inserted into your esophagus all the way down into your stomach and a little camera is attached so the doctor can look inside and either confirms this is what you got or else he will do other test with you until he find out the reason for your pain when swallowing food or water.
