So today I was carrying one of those long light CFL lamps and I accidentally dropped it in my garage and it shattered to pieces. My dad told me to go inside and he cleaned it up by sweeping it out and wiping off the garage floor with a wet paper towel. But the garage really was never aired out except for the occasional opening which was like one time. Obviously, there is no ventilation in the garage so I'm pretty sure it didn't go anywhere else in the house.
Both my dad and I washed our clothes and I went to take a shower. But the thing that I am concerned about now is my dog. He is a miniature poodle so he really isn't that big. His paws right now are quite fuzzy so stuff gets stuck in them. Anyways, we go through the garage to go on walks and my grandma came and got him and he walked through the garage several times. About three times. Because of his small size, how close he is to the ground and the fact that his paws are quite fuzzy, I am now extremely worried about him. Will the mercury in the bulb affect him? Will he be okay?? Please help Sad!

Good news: CFLs, while the have some mercury, don't have a ton... about 4 mg.
Bad news: Mercury is pretty dangerous, and you probably didn't completely clean up the spill. You may want to ventilate the area, which will help the mercury disperse, which considering the tiny amount you're talking about (a ball maybe as big as the head of a pin), is probably okay.

As for your dog, if he starts feeling really lousy, I would take him to the vet. They may be able to treat him by binding up all the mercury in his body.
